About Me

I'm a senior packaging science student at Clemson University. I have an emphasis in design, which I've gotten experience with throughout my experience in packaging.

I was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in Syracuse. Right now my family lives in Charlotte, but I love to travel and see other parts of the country. I like the south, but I definitely miss the north a lot.

As my time in school comes to an end, I've focused on developing relationships with friends and furthering my professional development. Ultimately, my goal is to obtain a role in package design in the research and development segment of a company.

Why Packaging Science?

I chose packaging science as my major initially because I thought it would both stimulate my creative side and challenge my scientific side. After being in the major for four years, this remains true, but I've also developed a passion for sustainability. I truly believe I'll be able to make a difference in the field and even the smallest dent in the reduction of packaging would mean so much.
Packaging is also such a broad field, covering the physics of transportation, the chemistry of the material, the manufacturing of the package, the design of the package, and the marketing associated. With so many things to cover, how will I ever get bored?

Why Design?

I chose design as my emphasis area because I am extremely creative. I really enjoy using illustrator to design graphics and create dielines with the prototyping machines in the Sonoco lab.
